Indian President says he is marketing idea of India as developed nation by 2020
After performing the role of a scientist, a teacher and then taking over the highest post in India, Indian President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Tuesday said he has now taken to "marketing the idea of India as a developed nation by 2020 to the political system and almost succeeded at it."

"As a President, I have brought out a roadmap for India as a developed nation by 2020. I am now marketing it to the political system and have almost succeeded at it," Kalam, who is in Panaji of Goa, south India, on a two-day visit, was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.
The President was interacting with children from various schools and colleges in Goa.
Answering questions from children, Kalam said all students mustexcel in their education, each must plant five saplings and teach five people to read and write if they want to do something for thecountry.
Advocating compulsory military education, the President said: "I feel that in a country like ours, where we have everything, at acertain age, we must undergo military training if we are to find order in our society."
