Zhou Yafei leads Chinese for FINA World Cup series in Sweden

World champion swimmer Zhou Yafei will lead other eight Chinese to compete in the FINA World Cup short course event to be kicked off on Jan. 13-14 Stockholm in Sweden.

World champion swimmer Zhou Yafei will lead other eight Chinese to compete in the FINA World Cup short course event to be kicked off on Jan. 13-14 Stockholm in Sweden.

Zhou, 20, member of the Chinese winning 4X100 meters medley relay team at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain last July, will show her versatility in butterfly and medley at the fourth meet of the FINA series.

The other Chinese participants in Stockholm are Fan Luojun, Zhou Jiawei, Wang Wei, Yang Jing, Gao Chang, Li Jie, Liu Zhongxin,Pang Jiaying. They will also swim in the 5th World Cup leg in Berlin during Jan 17-18.

Yang Yu and Zhan Shu, members of the Chinese medley relay worldchampions, will show up at Berlin and Moscow together with Fang Shu, Gao Tingyan, Li Ji, Wu Dong, Xin Tong, Liu Weijia, Du Yinzhe and Zheng Kunliang.

Among the top-level swimmers, Japan's Kosuke Kitajima, world champion and world record holder in men's 100m and 200m breaststroke, Australia's butterfly veteran Petria Thomas, Slovakia's Martina Moravcova and local favorite Emma Igelstrim, world record holder in women's 50m breaststroke, are expected to highlight the two-day Stockholm meet.
