Finland names 18-man squad for China friendlies

Finland coach Antti Muurinen named an 18-man squad on Friday in Helsinki for two friendlies against China next month, the first ever played between the countries.

Finland coach Antti Muurinen named an 18-man squad on Friday in Helsinki for two friendlies against China next month, the first ever played between the countries.

The first game takes place in Guangzhou on February 3 and the second in Shenzen four days later.

"The standard of Chinese football is rising steadily and the country is investing strongly in football," Muurinen said on the Finnish Football Association's website.

"China will field in these games its star players from leagues such as the English Premiership."

Squad: Goalkeepers: Jani Viander, Mikko Kaven

Defenders: Ville Nylund, Toni Kuivasto,Janne Hietanen, Miika Koppinen, Janne Salli

Midfielders: Jari Ilola, Alexei Eremenko jr, Jari Niemi, Peter Kopteff, Rami Hakanpaa, Antti Okkonen, Petri Heinanen,

Strikers: Mika Kottila, Daniel Sjolund, Antti Pohja, Antti Sumiala.
