One killed, three injured in construction collapse in Nanjing

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a three-story building under construction collapsed, leaving one dead and three injured in this capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a three-story building under construction collapsed, leaving one dead and three injured in this capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.

According to local police, 12 construction workers were workingon the building, located in Youfang Village in the city's Yuhua District, when the tragedy happened. They were all buried, but as of 5 p.m.ten had been pulled out alive, while two others were still missing.

The injured were rushed to hospital.

Leading local officials, including Jiang Hongkun, acting mayor of Nanjing, are at the site monitoring the rescue work.
