Zhang Yining takes women's singles title at China Open
World top women's table tennis player Zhang Yining slightly injured her tailbone during training in Zhengding, Hebei province.
Zhang, singles runner-up at the World Championships in Paris last May and silver medalist at ITTF Grand Finals last December, got her injury on Tuesday during a training session.
She was sent to a local hospital and the X-ray tests showed that her tailbone was slightly broken.
Liu Tianlu, the doctor of the national team, revealed that Zhang has the chronical injury on tailbone but the new injury will not affect her attendance at the coming World Championships in Doha, Qatar in March and the Olympic Games.
"Her injury isn't serious. She will recover in a few days," Liu said.
