An explosion occurred on January 3 night near the site of Afghanistan's ongoing constitutional assembly in the capital without causing casualties, authorities said.
The blast happened around 23:00 pm local time near the campus of Kabul Polytechnic, where a Loya Jirga, or grand assembly, is being held to ratify the country's new constitution, according to a press statement by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
No injuries to personnel or damages to the assembly's facilities had been reported.
The NATO-led peacekeeping force was working with the Afghan security authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion, said the ISAF statement.
Meanwhile, local police said the mid-night blast was caused by a rocket fired from south of Kabul.
The rocket attack was the latest in a series of attacks on the Afghan capital after the historic assembly opened nearly three weeks ago to discuss and adopt a new constitution for the post-war country.
Afghanistan's ousted Taliban movement earlier vowed to disrupt the constitution-making event, which was hailed as a significant step in the country's recovery from over two decades of war and civil conflicts.
