Health Ministry reports suspected SARS case to WHO
China's Ministry of Health has reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) that south China's Guangdong Province found a suspected case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), said a spokesman of the ministry here Saturday.

In addition, the Guangdong Provincial government has informed the governments of Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions about the first suspected SARS case ever found on Chinese mainland since the last two SARS patients were discharged hospital on August 16 in Beijing.
The discovery of the suspected SARS case proved that medical organizations' work on the SARS prevention and control is effective, said the spokesman.
In addition, all localities were required to strengthen monitoring and examination on patients with syndrome of fever.
The man was confirmed to be a suspected patient of SARS is receiving treatment at a hospital in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province.
