Israeli missile attack in Gaza kills 5 Palestinians

At least Five Palestinians were killed and several others injured when Israeli helicopter gunships fired two missiles at a car in Gaza city on Thursday.

At least Five Palestinians were killed and several others injured when Israeli helicopter gunships fired two missiles at a car in Gaza city on Thursday, witnesses said. Among the dead Palestinians were two militants from the Saraya Al Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad (Holy War), they said. One of the two militants was Muqalad Hmeid, commander of the armed wing in northern Gaza Strip, they added. The car carrying three Islamic Jihad militants was attacked in Gaza's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, the witnesses said.They said that they heard two explosions before dozens of peopleran towards the targeted car that was burning with flames and black smoke coming out of it.

The residents in the neighborhood went to the car and began toput out the fire and pull the three militants out of the car. Medical sources at Shiffa Hospital said the emergency room received the bodies of the five Palestinians and 60 other wounded people.

The last air strike was carried out in October when Israeli Apache helicopters fired several missiles at a car and killed 15Palestinians.

After October's air strike, Israel had stopped targeting Palestinian militants and political leaders as Palestinian factions and Egyptian mediators held talks trying to reach an agreement on atruce with Israel.
