Beijing to vaccinate 800,000 migrant workers next month
Doctors from the disease prevention and control center of Dongchegn District came to the construction site of Huang'an Plaza on December 23 to vaccinate workers against meningococcal meningitis. It is reported that in the coming month the city's 800,000 migrant workers will be vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis and measles. All vaccines are provided free of charge.

It is reported that in the coming month the city's 800,000 migrant workers will be vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis and measles. All vaccines are provided free of charge.
Since Beijing has a large number of migrant workers, during each peak season of epidemic diseases some of them would miss vaccination and get measles consequently. So this year the municipal government earmarked 2.98 million yuan to provide vaccines to workers in construction unites.
The vaccination work started from large construction sites and will be carried out in an organized way, with vaccination certificates issued. Worker can also receive vaccines at home. Measles vaccines follow meningococcal meningitis by two weeks and the whole work will be completed before January 15 next year. Workers who returned home early for the Spring Festival could receive vaccines after coming back to Beijing.
