China has formally handed in application to bid for 2010 Asian Games in south China's city of Guangzhou.
Vice President of China Olympic Committee, Yu Zaiqing says Guangzhou's bid has been approved by the State Council, which ensures full support from the Central Government.
He believes Guangzhou is well capable of holding such important games.
Host city of the 2010 Asian Games will be announced in June next year.
