Administrators in training for Beijing Olympics

A Sports Management Masters degree is being jointly offered by Beijing's Tsinghua University and the University of Technology, Sydney. The course was officially inaugurated on Friday afternoon. Officials from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the 29th Olympiad (BOCOG)say they need about 10,000 qualified administrators for the Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

A Sports Management Masters degree is being jointly offered by Beijing's Tsinghua University and the University of Technology, Sydney. The course was officially inaugurated on Friday afternoon. Officials from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the 29th Olympiad (BOCOG)say they need about 10,000 qualified administrators for the Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

The project is specifically tailored to the needs of the 2008 Olympics. The teachers were involved the Sydney Olympics organizing and training, and are also providing training for the Athens Olympics. The students mainly come from the State Sport General Administration and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the 29th Olympiad.

An official from BOCOG says the courses meet their needs and support future preparatory work. BOCOG has designed a training plan and next year they will send some working staff to Athens, Greece to acquire experience.
