Paintings album published in commemoration of Mao Zedong
The late Chinese leader, Chairman Mao Zedong, has for the first time appeared in traditional-style Chinese paintings in the album "China Has Mao Zedong", which was published in Shanghai Saturday.

Commissioned by a research institute with the Shanghai municipal committee of the Communist Party of China, the album has110 paintings featuring the life and career of the charismatic leader.
The painter, Yang Hongfu, has been drawing posters of Mao for factories and schools since the 1970s. It took him eight months to complete the album.
"He did a very good job in depicting Chairman Mao," said Mao's daughter-in-law Liu Siqi, after studying the album.
Mao died in 1976, and Dec. 26 this year is the 110th anniversary of his birth.
