Premier Wen meets with Israeli President Katsav

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said that as long as China and Israel grasp opportunity, trade and economic cooperation will be upgraded to new heights.

Premier Wen Jiabao meets with Israeli President
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said that as long as China and Israel grasp opportunity, trade and economic cooperation will be upgraded to new heights.

Wen made the remarks in a meeting with Israeli President Moshe Katsav Friday. He said trade volume between China and Israel currently was as 13 times greater than when the two countries forged diplomatic ties.

Some projects such as a demonstration farm and the cooperative research on water resources, biology, and nano-technology have become good examples of Sino-Israeli cooperation.

Wen encouraged Israel to participate in China's strategy of developing the west region and northeast industrial base.

Katsav said that both Jews and Chinese have contributed to the civilization of the humanity. He said that cooperation between Israel and China has great potential, particularly in economic andtrade cooperation, and scientific research.
