Israel detains top Hamas leader in Tulkarem
Israeli army forces detained early Thursday a top leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in its raid on the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem, Hamas sources said.
Israeli army forces detained early Thursday a top leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in its raid on the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem, Hamas sources said.
The sources said that the Israeli forces raided the house of Sheikh Ammar Manna, 30, and detained him. Manna is a well-known senior Hamas leader, who is married and has three children.
The Israeli soldiers backed by tanks besieged Manna's house in the town, broke and searched into it, and then arrested Manna and took him to jail, the sources added.
Residents said that Manna is a famous Imam and works as a teacher at Al Quds Opened University. Israel accuses him of being aprominent active Hamas leader in the town.
