UK to hold inquest into Diana's death
British royal family's coroner said Thursday that inquests into the deaths of Diana, late Princess of Wales, and her lover Dodi Fayed are to be held next month.
British royal family's coroner said Thursday that inquests into the deaths of Diana, late Princess of Wales, and her lover Dodi Fayed are to be held next month.
The inquest will be the first official public hearing in Britain into the deaths.
Michael Burgess, coroner of the Queen's Household, said separate inquests for the deaths will be opened on January 6.
"The opening of these inquests has been the subject of discussion and correspondence with the families for some time," he said in a statement.
The hearings could finally solve the mystery of how Diana died with Fayed in a car crash in a Paris underpass in 1997.
