Cambodian government has decided to destroy its 233 surface-to-air missiles in an effort toprevent them from falling into the hands of international terrorists, a government statement received on Tuesday said.

The decision was made by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen afterhe met with the US Ambassador to Cambodia Charles Ray on Monday.
There are a total of 233 A-72 surface-to-air missiles in Cambodia's military arsenals, which was said imported from former Soviet Union in 1980s.
The US Ambassador praised the premier's decision and promised to send weapon experts to help Cambodia destroy these ant-aircraftweapons "as soon as possible."
