Wen Jiabao meets Mexican President Fox
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met his Mexican host, President Vicente Fox. Wen said the purpose of his visit is to enhance trust and expand understanding between Mexico and China. He will also seek mutual development for the two countries.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met his Mexican host, President Vicente Fox. The two will attend a signing ceremony of bilateral cooperation documents after their talks.
Wen Jiabao said both China and Mexico face the task of peace and development and they need to strengthen their cooperation.
Speaking to reporters later, the premier said both sides agree to further enhance the exchanges between two governments and parliaments.
Fox stressed that his country's "one China" policy and speaks highly of China's efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Korean Peninsular.
Earlier Wen Jiabao also met with Mexican former president Luis Echeverria Alvarez and congressional leaders.
In a written statement issued upon his arrival Friday afternoon, Wen Jiabao said the purpose of his visit is to enhance trust and expand understanding between Mexico and China. He will also seek mutual development for the two countries.
Wen Jiabao noted he was confident that his visit would help further promote friendship between Mexicans and Chinese people in the new century.
Premier Wen Jiabao is on the third leg of a four-nation tour which has taken him to the United States and Canada.
