Party construction in China's military forces is vital for all the work of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), said Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Jiang Zemin Friday.

Party construction in China's military forces is vital for all the work of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), said Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Jiang Zemin Friday.

Jiang made the remark when meeting with the delegates who attended a seminar on the PLA's Party construction. The Party construction is a magic weapon for the Communist Party of China (CPC) to fulfill great tasks, he said.

The PLA, under the absolute leadership of the CPC, shoulders the responsibility of safeguarding national security and unification and the all-round construction of a relatively well-off society, he said, expressing hope that the Party construction work of the PLA will be improved in the military renovation process with Chinese characteristics.
