Chinese sports authorities have appointed a new coach for the national women's football team.
33-year-old Zhang Haitao is set to take over the team on Wednesday.
With his sound background in professional training and language skills, the former national junior team midfielder got the job ahead of three others, including former coach Ma Liangxing.
Meanwhile, China will name its national team roster, which will kick off their preparations later this month for next year's Athens Olympics.
The former world and Olympic runners-up China finished a disappointing 5th place at this year's World Cup after losing to
Canada
in quarterfinals.
