China's steel output topped 200 million tons in the first 11 months this year, making the country the first nation to achieve such a high annual steel output, statistics from the State Statistical Bureau showed.

According to the statistics, China's industrial output rose by 17.9 percent in November, a highest monthly increase this year. The average growth rate of added industrial output value in the 11-month period was 16.8 percent, the statistics showed.
Telecom equipment, transportation facilities, electronic machinery and metallurgy industry are the four major pillars, contributing 46.9 percent to the whole growth of industrial output in November.
Auto production rose by 32.7 percent to reach 419,600 units while car output rose by 71.6 percent to 200,200 units in November. The output of automobiles and cars reached four million and 1.8 million units respectively in the last 11 months.
Coal output last month rose 20.9 percent to 122 million tons while the output of electric power was up 15.6 percent to 162.5 billion kilowatts.
