Second part of late Chairman Mao's biography to be published

The second part of the biography of late Chairman Mao Zedong (Dec. 26, 1893 - Sept. 9, 1976), the founder of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the People's Republic of China, will be published in days.

The second part of the biography of late Chairman Mao Zedong (Dec. 26, 1893 - Sept. 9, 1976), the founder of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the People's Republic of China, will be published in days.

The book, authored by the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, will be published by the publishing house affiliated to the Center.

The second part of the biography, covering the late chairman's life from 1949-1976, contains 1,300,000 characters in 43 chapters. The first part, covering 1893-1949, was published in August, 1996.

The second part is mainly based on large numbers of the late chairman's manuscripts, speeches and minutes of talks, documents and minutes of related meetings of the CPC Central Committee. The book also benefited from memoirs of those who had direct contact with Chairman Mao and from interviews with them.

The monographic selection of Mao's works and other related books also will be published to mark Chairman Mao's 110th anniversary of birth.

The selection of 1,800,000 characters is divided into eight parts on different subjects.

In addition, a 20-part TV series and a documentary on the late chairman will be shown shortly.
