Chinese Dong Fangzhuo to sign with Man United

Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo, a teenager from Dalian Shide will officially sign with Manchester United.

Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo, a teenager from Dalian Shide will officially sign with Manchester United.

Dailian Shide has finished negotiating a transfer with Manchester United. The two sides will sign the contract in ten days.

Manchester United will offer two million pounds, a sum higher than that offered for Sun Jihai, China's first international footballer.

In August, 18-year-old Dong Fangzhuo emerged as the cream of a crop of youngsters sent by China's top clubs to England for trials.

So far, China has two footballers playing in the Premier League. Former Dalian defender Sun Jihai joined the Premier League last year when he signed with Manchester City. Midfielder Li Tie, formerly of Liaoning Bodao, plays at Everton.
