1860 Munich's international midfielder Shao Jiayi believes China can only improve if more of his compatriots get the chance to play in Europe.
23-year-old Shao Jiayi, who's not playing for six-months due to a knee injury, returned to
Beijing
yesterday (Monday) for a two-week holiday.
Reflecting on his recent experience in the German Bundesliga, Shao Jiayi thinks experience playing outside China is the key to further success on the international scene.
Unable to show his skills on the pitch due to injury, Shao Jiayi says for the moment he's staying calm and preparing himself mentally for a quick return to full fitness.
" I'm recovering from my injury. I am still unsure when I will be able to play a full match. I have not participated in a proper training session as of yet and I am going to stay patient. I am not going to take any risks but having said that, should I be able to play in March, I will definitely build on the recovery." Shao said.
Shao Jiayi is expected to feature in the Chinese squad for the Asian Cup, to be held next October, along with two other Chinese football internationals, Sun Jihai and Li Tie, who play for Man City and Everton in England. (cri news)
