Chinese defense minister meets Brazilian guests

China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Brazil, Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan said in Beijing Sunday.

China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Brazil, Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan said in Beijing Sunday.

Cao, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, made the remark when meeting with Brazilian Defense Minister Jose Viegas Filho.

Cao said that China values cooperation with Brazil in various fields since the two counties enjoy friendly relations.

The Chinese and Brazilian armed forces have increased their exchanges in recent years and deepened mutual understanding, said Cao, adding that China is optimistic about the further cooperationbetween the two armed forces.

Cao appreciated Brazil's adherence to the one-China policy.

Jose Viegas extended his congratulations on China's successful launch of the Shenzhou-5 manned spacecraft, hoping the two countries would further promote their cooperation in various fields. He reiterated Brazil's adherence to the one-China policy.
