Local police in Pingyu County, central China's Henan Province, have detained Huang Yong, a farmer, for killing 17 young people at his home.
Huang, 29, confessed that since September 2001, he had lured young people, mostly kids from rural areas, from video halls, Internet bars and video game rooms to his house by claiming to be a video game master and offering to teach them special tricks.
When they came to his home, Huang killed them, said local police sources.
An official from the Henan Provincial Bureau of Public Securitypledged that they would swiftly handle the case and seek out thoseguilty of dereliction of duty during the process.
