The constitution for Iraq will be unveiled in 2005 after the parliamentary and general elections, current president of the Iraqi Interim Governing Council (IGC) Jalal Talabani said in Ankara Wednesday.
Talabani, who came to Turkey for the first time as the IGC president, made the remarks during his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The constitution will be mapped out with the participation of all ethnic groups in Iraq, he said.
It will be democratic and federative, said Talabani, adding that all ethnic elements should be represented in the central government in proportion with their populations.
Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, who was in Talabani's company, said Wednesday that the situation in Iraq was variable and the settlement to the constitution would take time, but national unity was provided at the moment.
The senior Iraqi delegation, which consists of Talabani and several ministers, is also scheduled to meet with Turkish Foreign Ministry officials and businessmen before wrapping up their visit on Thursday.
