China posts 45 percent increase in machinery exports
Exports of Chinese machinery products rose 45.33 percent in the first three quarters of 2003 over the same period last year to 41.14 billion US dollars, according to a source with the Chinese Association of Machinery Industry on Tuesday.

Exports of the electric machinery products reached 13.227 billion US dollars, taking the lion's share, the source said, adding that exports of air-conditioners, electric motors, engines and cables had continued to rise.
The United States and Japan were the major importers of China'smachinery products, respectively claiming 20.32 percent and 13.91 percent of total exports during this period.
