World Expo offers business opportunities for private enterprises
The 2010 Shanghai World Expo will not only offer golden business opportunities for state-owned enterprises and foreign companies, but also for the country's growing private sector.
The 2010 Shanghai World Expo will not only offer golden business opportunities for state-owned enterprises and foreign companies, but also for the country's growing private sector.
Jing Shuping, former chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, made the remark Sunday at the International Business Leader's Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.
He said that after more than 20 years of development, China's private enterprises have made great progress in assets accumulation, marketing, talent training, technology innovation and enterprise management, and have grown to be one of the country's major economic driving forces.
Private enterprises not only play a leading role in labor-intensive industries and service industries, but also are developing well in some capital-intensive industries and technology-intensive industries, he said.
Jing suggested the Shanghai municipal government offer an open and fair competition environment for the private sector to participate in the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. He urged the government to release more information to the public so that blind investment can be avoided.
