Chinese FM expresses sympathy for US over wildfire damage

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing has sent a message to US Secretary of State Colin Powell, expressing sympathy over the severe damage from the wildfires in southern California.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing has sent a message to US Secretary of State Colin Powell, expressing sympathy over the severe damage from the wildfires in southern California.

In the message to Powell on Thursday, Li expressed his deep sympathy for the heavy loss of lives and properties from the wildfires and extended condolences to the families of the victims.

The Chinese foreign minister wished the people of California will beat the wildfires and resume normal life.
