Security ready for upcoming Boao Asian Forum

Security operations are ready for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2003, from Nov. 2-3, with more than 1,300 policemen residing in the town.

Security operations are ready for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2003, from Nov. 2-3, with more than 1,300 policemen residing in the town.

The Hainan Provincial Public Security Department said the police officers have conducted exercises and made preparations to ensure the security of the conference.

The Frontier Defense Army has conducted maritime security exercises involving suspicious vessels and floating objects. The Armed Police practiced dealing with flammable and explosive substances. Fire fighters have inspected the fire equipment at theBFA site, the International Conference Center.

Wang Heping, general commander of security at the conference and director of the Hainan Provincial Public Security Department, said security operations were going smoothly and he was confident of a successful conference.
