US President George W. Bush on Tuesday urged the House of Representatives and the Senate of Congress to reach agreement on the vital funds for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"I recommend the House and the Senate for approving the supplemental request" of 87 billion dollars, Bush told reporters in the Rose Garden of the White House.

Bush urged "both houses of Congress to reach agreement on a final bill so these vital funds can go quickly to where they needed."

In a nationally broadcast speech early September, Bush asked Congress for 87 billion US dollars for the reconstruction of Iraq and Afghanistan.

He said the money requests "are just as critical to the overallsuccess in Iraq."
