The permanent site of the Boao Asian Forum, the International Conference Center and attached hotel, have been established just one and half year after China promised to build the best possible venue.

The construction of the conference structures and facilities was originally planned to be finished in three years.

The venue includes four sophisticated hotels and two villa complexes with 1,500 guest rooms in the Boao downtown area, said Chen Jinhua, the chief Chinese representative of the forum.

The three-storied conference center and its attached hotels covering about 91,000 square meters are fully computerized and able to provide simultaneous interpretation in seven languages.

The conference sites are also accessible to high-speed or wireless Internet service, Chen added.

Besides serving as a very important site for the leaders of Asian countries, Boao also has become a very attractive tourist resort, said Lin Wenqing, the town head. He said the little coastal town in south China has attracted over 2 million tourists since it was selected as the permanent site for the Asian Forum three years ago.
