China beat Nigeria in women's field hockey at Afro-Asian Games

World Cup and Asian Games champions China scored their second victory in as many days at the1st Afro-Asian Games on Saturday in Hyderaba.

World Cup and Asian Games champions China scored their second victory in as many days at the1st Afro-Asian Games on Saturday in Hyderaba.

The Chinese team, who beat their first African rivals Kenya 2-1on Friday, went on to beat another African team Nigeria 3-1.

It took the Chinese team only 3 minutes to find the target as He Haiying beat Nigerian goal-keeper with a well-angled shot.

Yu Yali made it 2-0 for China in the 22nd minute as she slammedhome after a short corner had caused chaos in front of the Nigerian goal.

The Nigerian team fought hard and gained as many as four short corners. They finally scored with a short corner in the 28th minute through Nkiryeka Matyan Egbe.

But China enlarged their lead seven minutes later when Chen Lizhu scored with a short corner.

The second half of the match was intense but neither team scored again.

In the men's actions, Malaysia bt Ghana 5-0.
