Spanish First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Radrigo Rato announced here Friday evening that the international donors' conference for the reconstruction of Iraq has raised a total of 33 billion US dollars.

He released the final figure in the conclusions presented at the closing ceremony of the two-day conference.

This amount is a little bit higher than the expected figure of some 28 billion dollars.

He also urged the international community to continue to make contributions for Iraq's reconstruction work in both financial and other means, adding that humanitarian work should continue and increase in the country.

The participants at the conference have agreed that the international community should shoulder the responsibility together and come up with a clear response, he said.

Delegations from 73 countries, 20 international organizations and 13 non-governmental organizations attended the event.
