China to strengthen cooperation with ROK on nuclear issue on Korean Peninsula: FM
Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said Saturday that China will strengthen exchange and cooperation with the Republic of Korea (ROK) for a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

Li made the remarks during a meeting with ROK Foreign Minister Yoon Young-kwan on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) that ended Saturday in Bangkok.
Li and Yoon exchanged views on the nuclear issue. Li said China appreciates the role that the ROK has played in promoting the Beijing six-way talks on the nuclear issue not long ago.
Li stressed that China is ready to increase exchange with the ROK and work jointly for a peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue and peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Yoon also spoke highly of China's role in resolving the nuclear issue through peaceful means, saying the ROK hopes and supports China to continue with its effort for a final settlement of the issue.
Also on Saturday, Li also met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Hasan Wirayuda, who was briefed on China's stance on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
Hasan said Indonesia will work with China to safeguard the interests of the developing countries at the United Nations and within the framework of the APEC.
