HK to conduct serology study for SARS patients

The Department of Health, in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong, will conduct a month-long serological study among close contacts of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) patients, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government press release said Friday.

The Department of Health, in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong, will conduct a month-long serological study among close contacts of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) patients, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government press release said Friday.

The nurses of the Department of Health will start to conduct telephone interviews with the close contacts of SARS patients next Monday and all interviewees will be invited for blood tests at the department's regional offices or Elderly Health Service Centers, the press release said.

Results of the blood tests will be given to the interviewees after the study, it said.
