CPC senior official meets with Vietnamese guests
Jia Qinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met here Thursday with Nguyen Phu Trong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Jia, also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), congratulated Nguyen on the successful holding of the just-concluded seminar on socialism and the market economy.
He said China and Vietnam had maintained frequent contacts, and the cooperation between the two countries and parties had expanded in recent years.
He expressed the hope that the two parties exchange views on how to improve their parties and govern their countries, so as to contribute to strengthening the long-term, stable and good-neighborly relations.
Nguyen said "socialism and the market economy" was an issue concerning Vietnam and China, and the international community.
It was important for the two countries to explore this theoretical issue and learn from each other to improve the socialist construction in the two countries.
