First cross-Taiwan Strait fair for women, children slated for year-end

The first cross-Taiwan Strait fair featuring goods for women and children will be held in this capital of east China's Fujian Province from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.

The first cross-Taiwan Strait fair featuring goods for women and children will be held in this capital of east China's Fujian Province from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.

One of organizers said Saturday that the fair at the Fuzhou International Convention Center would offer 500 booths for goods, including jewelry, toys, garments, wedding photography, hairdressing and beauty products, food and healthcare products, stationery and gifts.

More than 100 Taiwanese companies are expected to attend and a Taiwan section would feature the themes, Wedding Clothes Made in Taiwan, Beautiful Women, and Happy Children.

Department stores and international chainstore conglomerates, including Wal-Mart, Metro of Germany, and Carrefour of France, would be represented, said the organizers, who hoped that the fairwould help boost cross-strait trade and cultural exchanges.
