Pakistan Friday tested successfully a short range surface to surface ballistic missile Hataf-III Chaznavi, which is capable of carrying all types of warheads up to a range of 290 kilometers.

The test which is the second of the missile indigenously developed was a part of a series of tests to be conducted in the next few days to validate the design parameters of various missile systems, said a press release issued by Pakistan's armed forces' Inter Services Public Relations Directorate.

The timings of the tests reflect Pakistan's determination not to engage in a tit for tat syndrome to other tests in the region and Pakistan will maintain the pace of its own missile development program and conduct tests as per its technical needs, said the press release.
