Employed Beijingers work for 5.9 days every week in average, according to the fifth National Censuson employment population.

According to the relevant regulations stipulated by the Chinese government, there are five working days for a week and eight working hours for a working day.

The outcome of the fifth National Census shows that around 4 percent of employed Beijingers work for less than five days a week; about 45 percent of the employed work for exactly five days every week and 44 percent for a whole week.

The Census also showcases that about 48 percent of employed men in Beijing work for a whole week, 10 percentage higher than the figure of employed women.

Employees in industries like agriculture, fishery, architectureas well as wholesale and retail trade, are working for a comparatively long time. About 60 percent of them work for seven days a week.

Employees in industries like finances, insurance, education, culture and arts are normally working for five days a week.
