Pakistan and China Saturday agreed to expand cooperation in information technology (IT) sector, according to Radio Pakistan.
Pakistani Minister of Information Technology Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and the visiting 12-member Chinese delegation led by Vice Minister of Information Industry Lou Qinjian discussed IT cooperation in Islamabad Saturday.
Awais Leghari invited Chinese companies to invest in IT sector in Pakistan and said both countries should take practical steps to boost business relations and long-term basis.
He offered Chinese delegation to cooperate in software productsand assured that Pakistan as a hub of business activities will export Chinese products abroad. Chinese cooperation in IT sector in Pakistan will be beneficial for both countries at regional and at international level, said the minister.
Pakistan has spent billion of dollars in IT sector to produce IT experts and China should utilize the services of Pakistani manpower in IT sector, said Awais Leghari, adding it is a great opportunity to further expand relations and take benefit by the two countries.
Lou said that Pakistani telecommunication industry has been developing rapidly and Pakistan's contribution and efforts in this sector are excellent.
