The Chinese government on Tuesday donated 1,000 motorcycles to the Indonesian Police to help improve performance of field officers.
Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Shumin symbolically handed over the motorcycles specially designed for police jobs during a ceremony at the police headquarters attended by Indonesian Police Chief General Da'i Bachtiar.
"The donation is part of the continuous efforts by both countries to deepen the long-term cooperation based on mutual respect," Lu Shumin said when receiving gratitude from Bachtiar.
The motorcycles are manufactured by leading Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Chongqing Lifan Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd., equipped with sirens, red-blue headlights and radio signal receivers.
