Sweden manager Marika Domanski-Lytors said the north European nation have been at the same level with China after they held the world runners-up to a 2-2 draw in awarmup for the Women's World Cup in Washington Monday.
"I am happy with the result," Lytors said. "We had planned to see whether we can play with a team as good as China. The results showed that we have been at the same level with them."
But she also said that China are still one of the best teams inthe world. "They played the way they always played. They are very fast and very tough. I think they can go through to the final eight or the semifinals in the World Cup."
She said Sweden were "unlucky" to squander their chance to win at the last moment. "Without the penalty, we should have won. Bothsides created many chances and it was an even match as the shoreline suggested."
Sweden striker Hanna Ljungberg, scorer of the first goal, said that they should score more goals.
"We created more chances, we should have won.
"We managed to find a little space behind China's back four, but we were not lucky."
