Chinese premier meets Russian deputy prime minister

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met Monday with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Galina Karelova, who is here to attend the Fourth Session of the China-Russia Cooperation Committee on Education, Culture, Health and Sports.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met Monday with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Galina Karelova, who is here to attend the Fourth Session of the China-Russia Cooperation Committee on Education, Culture, Health and Sports.

Wen said China and Russia are big countries boasting long histories and rich cultural resources, and bilateral cooperation has created sound conditions for their strategic and cooperative partnership and provided guarantee for the smooth development of the relationship.

Karelova remarked on the positive development and remarkable results of bilateral cooperation in the cultural field in recent years.

She said the Russian government attached great importance to bilateral cultural cooperation, holding that the cooperation has not only promoted people-to-people friendship, but also improved the bilateral strategic and cooperative partnership.
