China, Malaysia vow to further cooperation

Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju held talks here Monday with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and they agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries.

Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju held talks here Monday with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and they agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries.

Huang said China and Malaysia are neighbors and the leaders of the two countries have maintained frequent contact. The two countries have cooperated in the economic and trade, scientific, educational and other fields, he said.

Malaysia has become China's largest trading partner within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Huang said that the new Chinese government values relations with Malaysia and is ready to make joint efforts with Malaysia to upgrade the bilateral ties to a new stage.

He said that China hopes to further the cooperation with Malaysia on agriculture, high-tech industries and tourism, and will continue to encourage the investment between the enterprises of two countries so as to further Sino-Malaysian relations.

He noted that China and Malaysia are developing countries, and have common interests and identical views on many international and regional issues. China will work with Malaysia to safeguard the interest of the developing countries and push forward to builda just and reasonable international political and economic order.

Badawi said he was leading a delegation including ministers and entrepreneurs to China to further friendly cooperation between the two countries.

On the Taiwan issue, he said the Malaysian government will adhere to the One-China policy.

He praised China for its efforts to expand relations with ASEAN,and vowed to help promote relations between China and ASEAN.

He voiced his belief that China will play an important constructive role in international and regional affairs, and said that Malaysia will work together with China to safeguard peace andstability of the region and the world at large.

After talks, Huang and Badawi attended a signing ceremony for five documents on agriculture, aviation and tourism.
