Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, has reiterated the importance of initiating a new wave of the campaign for studying and implementing the important thought of "Three Represents".
Li made the call at Tuesday's closing ceremony of a training course for provincial-level leading officials to study the important thought of "Three Represents" sponsored by the Party School of the CPC Central Committee. He urged the officials to study the recent speech by CPC Central Committee General Secretary Hu Jintao on the issue.
Such a campaign is necessary for consolidating the leading status in the country's ideological field, realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and consolidating the ruling status of the CPC, the official stressed.
He called for combining the important thought of "Three Represents" with practice and work, so as to have a complete understanding of the theory. Let the people learn from experience that it is a theory of serving, representing and benefiting the people, he noted.
He Guoqiang, member of both the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the ceremony.
The training course began on September 3, which was attended by leading officials from provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, as well as central Party and government departments and major military units.
