Israel will not accept a situation in which the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is ruled by PNA Chairman Yasser Arafat or anyone of his choosing, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Office said Saturday.

The office made such comments after Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas submitted his resignation, Israel Radio reported.

Meanwhile, former Labor Minister Yossi Beilin, also an architect of Oslo Accords, said Sharon should hold responsibilities for Abbas' resignation.

"Sharon should have negotiated with Abbas and enabled him to present his people with achievements, but instead he turned Arafat into a hurt and vengeful animal," Beilin said.

Earlier, Israeli Health Minister Dan Naveh said Israel must expel Arafat.

"Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas' resignation proves Arafat's terror regime will continue," said the minister of Likud Group.

Israeli Justice Minister Yosef Lapid claimed that the villain inthis story is Arafat, and Israeli government "may have to discuss his future again."
