Typhoon Dujuan arrived at Gangkou Town, Huidong County, south China's Guangdong Province, around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday after sweeping through Taiwan.
Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory said the maximum wind force was monitored at 40 meters per second, and the lowest air pressure was 960 per 100 pascal. At 8 p.m., it was centered at 22.6 degrees north and 114.8 degrees east.
Dujuan brought strong winds to the eastern and western areas of Guangdong and heavy rains to southern and western Guangdong, said the observatory.
'Arial Unicode MS' Primary and middle schools in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Shanwei cities have closed and all fishing boats have returned to port.
