Bird Rescue Center to be Built in Yellow River Delta
A center offering medical care to birds injured during migration will be established in the Yellow River Delta within the year, according to information from the Shandong Provincial Administration for the Yellow River Nature Reserve.

The center will be equipped with the necessary medical equipment and will also be staffed by medical workers who have received special training in bird care, said the information.
The administration said it will also finance the establishment of two new bird-feeding bases at the Yellow River Estuary Management Station and the Dawenliu Management Station, all insideeast China's Shandong Province. Each of the bases will have an area of 200 hectares.
The Yellow River Delta, where the wetland ecological system is considered the most complete in China and which extends 153,000 hectares in area, has been an important place for migratory birds from the inland of East Asia and the West Pacific Rim to stop overand propagate. About 280 kinds of birds spend winter at the delta each year.
Previously, the administration has set up two bird feeding zones inside the Yellow River Delta.
