Pakistan to Repatriate 269 Indian Fishermen

In a goodwill gesture, the Pakistani authorities have decided to repatriate 269 Indian fishermen detained one year ago along with 31 boats, the official Associated Press of Pakistan reported Tuesday.

In a goodwill gesture, the Pakistani authorities have decided to repatriate 269 Indian fishermen detained one year ago along with 31 boats, the official Associated Press of Pakistan reported Tuesday.

The Indian fishermen were detained for violating the territorial sea waters of Pakistan. They will leave for home from the Karachi harbor on Thursday.

Official sources said that the Indian fishermen will be set free as a gesture of goodwill by the Pakistani government under its peace initiative program with India.

The Indian fishermen will be handed over to Indian coast guards.
